June, 2004
At its first anniversary event on June 23, 2004, Boston-IA presented two well-known accessibility experts: Mike Paciello and Larry Goldberg, talking about how to make software applications and multimedia accessible. (Part 1 of 3.)
Boston-IA marked its first anniversary by hearing from two accessibility titans: Mike Paciello, author of Web Accessibility for People with Disabilities and co-founder of the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), and Larry Goldberg, Director of Media Access at WGBH, Boston's public broadcasting system television and radio stations.
Mike, a Boston-IA board member, spoke about the entire product life cycle for developing accessible software products, and Larry talked about the development of accessible multimedia projects at WGBH.
This milestone event was hosted by Molecular, a technology consulting company in Watertown, Massachusetts. As part of the evening, Boston-IA members and guests sampled a satisfying abundance of snacks and shared a huge festive anniversary cake.
